The first true weekend of fall is here. Time to celebrate the change of seasons! Over the next few weeks I will share some fun ideas, activities and a few new products.
Let’s enjoy this weekend with some fun fall activities; take a walk, pick some apples or pumpkins, go on a hayride or plan for Halloween. If the weather is nice, I’m planning on a walk along the bike trail. (I love to scuff my feet as I walk and listen to the leaves rustle.) I’ll take one of our recycled water bottle bags to pick up some beautiful leaves.
I have family and friends that live in warm climates where the trees don’t turn colors so I’ll send them a few to enjoy.
Just bring the leaves home and press them in the phone book. They will be dry in a few days to tuck into a note or a box along with a few apples.
Or maybe if I have a little more time I’ll do a childhood craft project. You know the one where you take the pressed leaves and put them between two pieces of wax paper with a few crayon shavings then press with a warm iron to melt the crayon shavings. (Don’t forget to cover the paper with an old dishtowel to protect your iron.) These can then be cut into shapes, punch a hole in them and hang them in the windows. Remember this fun project in first grade?
